Completed in 1916, the Pine to Palm course is one of Minnesota’s finest resort area layouts. The rolling terrain and trees which line each fairway make the Pine to Palm Course (par is 36-35-71) a challenging test of golf. The course record is 59, set in 2013 by Josh Persons.
One of Minnesota’s three “Resort Circuit” golf tournaments – the Pine to Palm – is played at Detroit Lakes each August and attracts an excellent field of about 500 golfers. Qualifying rounds are medal play, with match play following in the championship, Senior Division, and numbered flights.
On the Pine to Palm side, a new clubhouse was completed in 1995 and offers golfers and the general public all the conveniences – from breakfast, lunch, fine dining to facilities for reunions and receptions. Locker rooms are also available for the golfer on the lower level.

Since 1931 the Pine to Palm Golf Tournament is held annually the second week of August with 450+ contestants in 5 Divisions (Championship; Mid Am; Seniors; Super Seniors and Numbered Flights.) In recent years, the Pine to Palm also has had a division for play on the Lakeview golf course, located across the county road from the Pine to Palm Course, which is an 18-hole layout that plays to a par of 31-33-64. The Pine to Palm course has a 36-35-71. The Detroit Lakes Pine to Palm Golf Tournament is one of the largest and most prestigious golf tournaments in the Upper Midwest attracting contestants from more than 35 states. It was very nice for our family so we could have access to each others room and to have use of a Kitchen. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and our son was participating in the Pine to Palm Tournament. Nice location to golf course & downtown. The rooms were clean and the amenities of having a dock for our boat and use of paddle boat & Kayakes was especially nice. We enjoyed the complementary breakfast; especially the waffles and pancakes.
