The Lodge offers three room types to guests with ADA Accessibilty needs. These rooms and suites make it easier for disabled persons to enter and leave; are on the first floor and feature wider doorways to the bedroom and bathroom. Our accessible accommodations have features to help guests with additional access requirements. Bathrooms are bigger, the tub in the Family Suite has handles, while the Resort Rooms offer roll-in showers and all have assistive listening devices. All bathrooms also provide the latest compliance with room for a wheelchair next to the toilet.
All ADA accessible rooms and suites provide doors and doorways (at least 32-inches of clear width passage), with clear floor space and accessible HVAC and lighting controls. Guest room Communication Assist Features include Closed-caption televisions, visual notification devices for telephones, telephones volume control and visual fire and smoke alarms for your safety. Room signage is 60-inches to sign center above finished floor.
General Hotel & Public Space Accessibility
Public space ADA accessible features include accessible parking spaces that are 96-inches wide with an appropriate access aisle and signage (car and van). An accessible route allows for approaching and entering the hotel through an accessible lobby entrance door combined with an accessible reception desk or accessible folding shelf or reception area. Interior routes to public spaces do not have abrupt level changes. The eating area has self-service shelves and dispensing devices within reach range and an accessible table. Public restrooms are all wheelchair accessible.
Accessible Lakefront Resort Room – 2 Queen Beds
Lakefront room with two queen beds. Upscale bedding, flat panel LCD HDTV, wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. roll-in shower. ground floor: with sliding glass door & roll/walk-out patio, non-smoking, full breakfast (currently using Grab & Go Bags while Covid precautions are in place). The Lodge on Lake Detroit offers much more than a “standard room”– We’ve designed these rooms to exceed your expectations!
Accessible Lakefront Resort Room Balcony – King
Lakefront room with 1 King bed and a sofa sleeper (double bed). Upscale bedding, flat panel LCD HDTV, wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. roll-in shower. Roll/walk-out private balcony, non-smoking, full breakfast (currently using Grab & Go Bags while Covid precautions are in place). Note: 1st floor patio King Rooms available with communication assistance. The Lodge on Lake Detroit offers much more than a “standard room”– We’ve designed these rooms to exceed your expectations!
Accessible Two Room Family Suite
Spacious lakefront suite with separate bedroom & living room. Bedroom has 2 Queen Beds and flat panel HDTV. Bathroom features tub, shower & curved shower rod. Furnished kitchen has two burner stove, full size refrigerator, microwave & dishwasher. Sitting area has sofa sleeper (double bed), flat panel LCD HDTV & roll/walk-out private balcony, non-smoking, & full breakfast (currently using Grab & Go Bags while Covid precautions are in place). * Larger gatherings may wish to also a rent connecting Resort Room with 2 Queen beds & private entrance.
