A Floating Music Festival Around Big Detroit Lake: Make the ‘Pub Crawl’ by Boat or Car!
The annual Detroit Lakes Boats & Bars returns on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Boats & Bars is one of Detroit Lakes’ most anticipated summer events, blending lake life, live music, and community spirit. Starting at 10:00 AM at Zorbaz on the Lake, participants travel by boat (or land) to six lakeside venues, each offering live entertainment and one free drink with your event ticket. Proceeds benefit a local charity or community organization, making this a party with a purpose.
Music on the Sandbar starts at 1pm! The Five establishments around the lake also have music. A ticket, which is a contribution to a local charity, will get you one free drink at each of the six establishments. This is a rain or shine event so will have a back-up location if rained out.

Entertainment Schedule & Venues
The event features multiple live bands throughout the day, including a headline performance by Cruize Control Band at Zorbaz at 9:00 PM. Known for their Trop Rock style, Cruize Control blends beachy vibes with classic rock and country influences—perfect for a lakeside party.

Yes! Boats & Bars is family-friendly during the daytime hours, especially at venues like The Sandbar and Lakeside Tavern. However, evening performances (like the 9 PM show at Zorbaz) are geared more toward adult audiences.
