A couple of years of Wednesday nights at the Red Carpet Nightclub in St. Cloud\, MN firmly established the band’s repertoire\, and musicianship\, and kept audiences dancing. \nDuring that time they recorded and released a couple of albums of their original material: Collective Unconscious\, and The Garden. \nA few years later they began performing the Beatles Abbey Road album in its entirety\, from Come Together all the way through Her Majesty (years before tribute bands were a thing). From there they expanded on to Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water album (with strings and brass)\, CSNY’s Deja Vu album\, The Band’s The Last Waltz (with a cavalcade of guest performers)\, and the epically grand album from The Beach Boys Pet Sounds (with a multitude of multi-instrumentalists playing over 30 different instruments). \nEventually\, CU joined up with powerhouse The Fabulous Armadillos to perform a show called Takin’ It To The Limit: An Eagles Tribute\, which has been entertaining sold-out houses across the midwest ever since. \nCollective Unconscious Website | Collective Unconscious Facebook Page \n\n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. SUMMARY:Dude Dad – Parents’ Night Out at the Historic Holmes Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Dude Dad – Parents’ Night Out at the Historic Holmes Theatre\nFebruary 21\, 2026 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm\nSpecial Event Discounted Hotel Rate\nPurchase Holmes Theatre Tickets Online Separately\nGet ready for a night of laughter that is tailor‑made for parents)\, “Dude Dad – Parents’ Night Out” live on February 21 at the Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes. This show offers parents in the Detroit Lakes area a rare chance to enjoy professional\, nationally touring comedy—while supporting a community partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes that benefits local youth. \nTaylor Calmus\, best known as Dude Dad\, is a Colorado‑based comedian and video creator who has become a viral sensation by turning the everyday chaos of parenting into pitch‑perfect comedy. A husband to his wife Heidi and a father of four kids\, Taylor draws from real‑life family moments—sleep deprivation\, household projects gone wrong\, marital miscommunication\, and the noble struggle of “trying your best”—to deliver humor that feels honest\, relatable\, and wildly funny. \nWith millions of followers across YouTube\, Facebook\, Instagram\, TikTok\, and other platforms\, Dude Dad’s rise from a DIY YouTube vlog into a national touring act speaks to his unique ability to connect with audiences. His comedy doesn’t rely on shock or cynicism; instead\, it finds humor in shared experiences\, inviting parents to laugh at themselves and the beautifully messy reality of raising kids. \nParents’ Night Out is Dude Dad’s adults‑only live show—designed specifically for parents who’ve put the kids to bed and are ready for an evening that’s both cathartic and hilarious. Expect a fast‑paced\, story‑driven performance filled with stand‑up comedy\, crowd connection\, and behind‑the‑scenes reflections on marriage\, parenting\, and identity after kids. While the inspiration comes from family life\, the tone is distinctly for grown‑ups\, which is why this performance is strictly 18+. \nCall Hotel Direct at (218) 847-8439 or . . .\nBOOK HOTEL SPECIAL EVENT RATE ONLINEHolmes Theatre Tickets: $58 Adults & $48 Some Balcony\nRESERVE HOLMES THEATRE TICKETSAdditional Details\nHotel rate includes only your hotel accommodations\, event tickets sold directly online by the Historic Holmes Theatre. \nBest Western Rewards Points: Earn 10 Best Western Rewards® points per USD. \nAbout the Talent:\nUnderstanding the Real‑Family Dynamic of Dude Dad: What audiences see in Dude Dad is not a sitcom or sketch ensemble—it’s a real marriage\, real parenting\, and real stories\, filtered through a comedic lens. \nTaylor Calmus\, creator of Dude Dad\, began the project as a weekly vlog just before the birth of his first child\, intending it as a creative outlet during the early days of fatherhood. The response was immediate and organic\, as parents recognized their own lives in the moments being shared on screen. \nHis wife\, Heidi Calmus\, appears regularly but intentionally remains herself rather than a fictionalized character. With a background that includes stage performance and more than a decade of work in nonprofit and advocacy roles\, Heidi brings both presence and emotional credibility to the content. Many moments audiences recognize as “bits” are\, in reality\, heightened versions of genuine conversations or reactions. \nThis authenticity is central to why Dude Dad resonates. The humor isn’t built on punchlines alone—it’s built on recognition. Parents see themselves in the dynamic: the misunderstandings\, the teamwork\, the frustration\, and the deep affection that comes with raising kids together. \nFor live performances like Parents’ Night Out\, Taylor brings these experiences to the stage through stand‑up comedy and storytelling designed specifically for adult audiences. While family is at the heart of the material\, the show is intentionally 18+\, giving parents space to laugh openly at the parts of parenting that usually happen after the kids are asleep. In short\, Dude Dad works because the Calmuses aren’t acting like a family—they are one. \n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. DESCRIPTION:The Fabulous Armadillos present “Keep on Truckin”\nFebruary 14\, 2026 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm\nSpecial Event Discounted Hotel Rate\nPurchase Holmes Theatre Tickets Online Separately\nEnjoy the Fabulous Armadillos at the Historic Holmes Theater\, 806 Summit Ave\, Detroit Lakes\, MN on the evening of February 14\, 2026 as they present “Keep on Truckin”. Don’t we all need to hear some “feel good” songs again from a bygone era? The Fabulous Armadillos theme “Keep On Truckin” will do just that. We are bringing back some of those great AM Gold songs that played on our radios in the 70’s. Just hearing them will bring us to special time and place in our lives. Life was simpler\, life seemed easier\, and the music was our soundtrack on vinyl and 8 tracks. We will not name ARTISTS this time\, so it your guess as to what we will include in “Keep On Truckin”. See if your song makes the Top 25! \nThey like to cross as many musical genres as possible\, so expect the unexpected! You know the Fabulous Armadillos and their special guests will have some big fun with this one! \nThe Fabulous Armadillos came out of their shell in 2006 and have since established a large and loyal following in Minnesota and beyond with their spot on recreations of songs from many genres of music from Country to Motown to Heavy Metal to 70’s Soft Rock and play them just like you remember. \nCall Hotel Direct at (218) 847-8439 or . . .\nBOOK HOTEL SPECIAL EVENT RATE ONLINEHolmes Theatre Tickets: $37 Adults & $18 Students\nRESERVE HOLMES THEATRE TICKETSAdditional Details\nHotel rate includes only your hotel accommodations\, event tickets sold directly online by the Historic Holmes Theatre. \nBest Western Rewards Points: Earn 10 Best Western Rewards® points per USD. \nAbout the Talent:\nThe Fabulous Armadillos \nOriginally formed to perform multi-instrumentalist Jeff Engholm’s solo album\, Summit Climb in the year 2000\, Collective Unconscious has grown from those humble roots to become one of Minnesota’s premiere groups. Singer/songwriters Nathan “Nature” Nesje\, and Muggsy Lauer make up the core of the group with their slick\, well blended vocal harmonies. They are joined by composer/keyboardist George Maurer. \nThrough the years\, the band has performed not only their own music\, but expanded into a new genre: album shows. Starting in 2005 with performing The Beatles “Abbey Road” from first track to last (Come Together to Her Majesty)\, with special guest and semi-band member\, Stacy Bauer\, they jumped into one of their most ambitious projects\, The Beach Boys “Pet Sounds”. That album took an ensemble of over 15 musicians playing an astounding array of instruments from Theramin to timpani\, and included The Vees and The Half Steps. Other album projects have included Simon & Garfunkel “Bridge Over Troubled Water”\, Crosby\, Stills\, Nash & Young “Deja Vu”\, and The Band “The Last Waltz”. \nIf that wasn’t enough\, the group teamed up with The Fabulous Armadillos in 2010 to create a veritable “super group” and have been performing “Takin’ It To The Limit: A Tribute To Eagles”\, and “Takin’ It To The Streets: A Tribute To The Doobie Brothers” ever since. And if even that wasn’t enough\, members of Collective Unconscious have taken part in groups paying tribute to Zed Zeppelin\, Pink Floyd\, Paul McCartney and Wings\, The Guess Who\, The Traveling Wilburys\, George Harrison\, The Blues Brothers\, and John Lennon\, as well as performing in plays\, pit bands\, jazz ensembles\, jug bands\, and this thing we do each February. \nThe Fabulous Armadillos Website | The Fabulous Armadillos Facebook Page \n\n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. Join The Fabulous Armadillos for Acoust-i-Dillos 3! This theme has become so popular with audiences\, The Dillos are bringing it back for a third time and they have a whole new crop of songs to add to the list! They aren’t going unplugged\, but will be playing songs whose foundations were built from acoustic guitars. \nGroups like America\, Eagles\, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers\, Crosby\, Stills\, Nash And Young\, Heart\, Kansas\, Boston\, Led Zeppelin\, and Pink Floyd all had great songs that were based on the acoustic guitar. Several artists like Jim Croce\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Simon and Garfunkel\, John Denver\, and James Taylor all made their mark with songs written around the acoustic guitar as well. \nThe Fabulous Armadillos came out of their shell in 2006 and have since established a large and loyal following in Minnesota and beyond with their spot on recreations of songs from many genres of music from Country to Motown to Heavy Metal to 70’s Soft Rock and play them just like you remember. Close your eyes and you are listening to all those vinyl records again or your AM/FM radio. The idea of the Fabulous Armadillos started with a diverse group of musicians who came together to perform “themed” concerts at the Pioneer Place On Fifth Theater in St. Cloud\, MN. Themes like “One Hit Wonders”\, “Woodstock”\, “Motown”\, “Singer/Songwriters”\, “Stadium Rock” and more. They have now played 100’s of themes at that theater as well as many regional venues in the Midwest and even in Mexico! Each show gaining them new fans and enjoying their brand of fun and entertaining\, yet musically spot on performances. They have brought hundreds of special guests in for their theme shows comprising of local and national talent. COME OUT OF YOUR SHELL and see what everybody has been talking about! \nThe Fabulous Armadillos also play corporate events\, fairs and festivals with their 8 piece group. He and his band mates have performed nearly 10\,000 concerts\, toured millions of miles to over 45 countries during their eventful career. Their music has been placed in multiple major studio theatre release films\, including a Disney animated film\, TV shows and radio commercials. They’ve shared studio and stage with legends the Meters\, Art Neville\, Los Lobos\, Marcia Ball\, the late Robert Palmer and Dave Matthews Band to name a few. They’ve been cultural ambassadors for their country since the mid 1980’s as part of the U.S\,. State Department ongoing cultural diplomacy tours. They performed in Ukraine twice (2012\, 2015) with the U.S. Embassy in Kiev and toured Russia for two weeks as well in 2015. \nAt its deepest roots\, zydeco music was traditional and performed acoustic with an accordion\, fiddle and triangle and sung in French. The older generation simply called it French music. Before that\, it was call and response\, jure´songs* of the 19th century using only clapping hands\, stomping feet and the yearning\, often painful voices of the oppressed French speaking blacks unique to Louisiana. Although jure´ was still being performed in rural Louisiana into the 20th century. One must understand how remote and isolated parts of the rural Deep South were to understand they were often decades behind other parts of the country. When Terrance was just a kid\, in the late 60’s he remembers horse and buggies being used as actual means of transportation in rural St. Landry Parish. The Creoles sang their songs through good times and bad\, through slavery\, Jim Crow and all the way up to the victorious time in 1982 when our friend and Queen Ida Guillory\, now 95 won the first Grammy award for zydeco! \nZydeco is driven by African and Caribbean rhythms and has evolved musically over decades incorporating more popular genres like rock\, funk\, R&B and into the 21st century\, incorporated rap and hip hop. Zydeco became wildly popular all over the world when it began to diversify from mostly trad French songs to contemporary sounding music that traveled more easily outside of the French speaking Creole community of Louisiana. During the 20th century Blues\, jazz and folk audiences embraced the music and Terrance et al were at the forefront as the emerging face of the music\, even performing in notable rock rooms in the US and Canada in the early-mid 80’s. \nRead More \nTerrance Simien Website | Terrance Simien Facebook Page \n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. DESCRIPTION:Cirque Mechanics Presents Pedal Punk at Historic Holmes Theatre\nMarach 21\, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm\nSpecial Event Discounted Hotel Rate\nPurchase Holmes Theatre Tickets Online Separately\nEnter the world of Pedal Punk\, a Steampunk inspired place where cycling is the way to escape the technology obsessed society. In the Pedal Punk theater show we experience the excitement\, artistry and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes. He repairs more than broken pieces. He creates wondrous machines and inspires the cyclist in all of us to become a Pedal Punk. \nTime Out Theater review by Raven Snook says\, “Decked out in Victorian hats\, goggles\, sleeve garters and meticulously groomed facial fair\, the astoundingly fit and funny ensemble kicks classic acts into high gear by performing them on a custom-made\, movable\, pedal-powered scaffold set dubbed the Gantry Bike. Spoke-less wheels become hula hoops\, a penny-farthing transforms into an aerial hoop\, metal bars invite climbing and contortion\, and\, of course\, unicycle and bicycle tricks abound. At the center of it all is a comical bike mechanic (Jan Damm\, an amusing clown who’s also a whiz at the diabolo and the balancing board)\, whose eccentric clientele keeps him hopping around like a pedestrian caught in a bike lane.” \nCall Hotel Direct at (218) 847-8439 or . . .\nBOOK HOTEL SPECIAL EVENT RATE ONLINEHolmes Theatre Tickets: $27 Adults & $12 Students\nRESERVE HOLMES THEATRE TICKETSAdditional Details\nHotel rate includes only your hotel accommodations\, event tickets sold directly online by the Historic Holmes Theatre. \nBest Western Rewards Points: Earn 10 Best Western Rewards® points per USD. \nAbout the Talent:\nAbout Cirque Mechanics \nIn 1999\, while working at Cirque du Soleil\, Chris Lashua and Aloysia Gavre began experiments using an innovative aerial apparatus. This apparatus combined Chris’ German Wheel with a set of rollers and winch which allowed for Aloysia’s hoop to be lifted by the rotation of the large wheel. This Trolley device was the inspiration for the development of other machines that would showcase the relationships between the acrobatic and mechanical worlds. \nIn 2004\, these machines became the center piece for a new theatrical work. Chris and Aloysia joined Sandra Feusi\, Rex Camphuis\, Sam Payne\, and Steven Ragatz to work together on the creation of the 30th Anniversary production of the Pickle Family Circus which was produced by the Circus Center of San Francisco. This year end show which would become Birdhouse Factory\, was our first collaborative effort. \nBirdhouse Factory went on to tour for 10 years. In that time it visited over 10 countries on 5 continents. The success of Birdhouse Factory lead us to research and build other innovative man powered apparatus. These devices would become the signature of our touring theatrical shows. Generating content that can fill a large stage and still pack up and travel requires thoughtful planning. This creative problem solving has lead to the creation of devices even more perfectly suited for the event world. \nThis focus on these original contraptions\, in addition to story telling\, and high level acrobatics has remained the heart of what we do. We are thrilled to make use of our combined skills to tackle common issues\, formulate innovative solutions and generate positive results for our event planner partners. \nCirque Mechanics inspired by modern circus\, finds its roots in the mechanical and its heart in the stories of American industrial ingenuity. The shows\, imbedded in realism\, display a raw quality rarely found in modern circus. Cirque Mechanics signature style is wrapped in acrobatics\, mechanical marvels and a bit of clowning around. This sensibility can be found in their five theatrical productions\, “Birdhouse Factory”\, “Boom Town”\, “Pedal Punk”\, “42ft” \, and “Zephyr” and we are excited to bring this unique approach to circus to “Cirque Mechanics Under Canvas” our brand new tent project that we launched in the summer of 2022. \nCirque Mechanics’ special event productions infuse the entertainment world with original apparatus and unique designs that can be found nowhere else. Check out their “Events” section to get a sense of how we bring our innovative approach to the corporate and event world. \nCirque Mechanics Website | Cirque Mechanics Facebook Page \n\n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. Prior to the band’s formation\, Tim Rushlow and Dwayne O’Brien began playing together in Arlington\, Texas\, in 1984. Porter Howell and Duane Propes got together while they were in high school in 1983 and moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. Brady Seals and Del Gray played in the backup band of country music singer Josh Logan. Rushlow\, O’Brien\, Propes\, and Howell first started making music at Opryland as a 1950s show band. With both Rushlow’s first wife and Howell’s wife\, plus two other members\, they took the show band on the road\, naming their act “The Varsities”. \nWhen two of the members left to pursue other interests\, they contacted their old friends Gray and Seals\, whom they had met while playing in Springfield\, Massachusetts\, in hopes of forging a more country/Southern rock sound. All six members eventually moved to Nashville\, Tennessee\, where they started playing together. The band played at venues across the United States (around 300 dates a year)\, eventually catching the attention of Nashville’s division of Warner Bros. Records. \nHiatus and status of former members\nDuring the band’s hiatus\, Del Gray co-wrote Trace Adkins’ 2000 single “More”. Former frontman Tim Rushlow signed to Atlantic Records as a solo artist that same year\, releasing a self-titled album. Although it accounted for four singles\, including the No. 8 “She Misses Him”\, Atlantic closed its country music division in 2001. Rushlow then founded a second band\, Rushlow\, whose members included his cousin Doni Harris. Rushlow released two singles and one album (Right Now) on Lyric Street Records\, but disbanded by 2004. Seals founded the band Hot Apple Pie\, which released a self-titled album and three singles in 2005\, while Rushlow and Harris founded the duo Rushlow Harris a year later. In addition\, Howell recorded one album in the band Hilljack\, which also included former solo artist Paul Jefferson. \nReunion: Duane Propes\, Del Gray\, Porter Howell\, and Dwayne O’Brien decided to reunite Little Texas in 2004. When Little Texas reunited\, Rushlow and Huskins made a legal attempt to keep their ex-bandmates from using the Little Texas name. As the other four members felt uncomfortable singing lead vocals in Rushlow’s and Seals’s absence\, they recruited Steven Troy as new lead vocalist. However\, O’Brien was critical of Troy’s performance as lead singer\, stating that it “just didn’t feel authentic”; as a result\, he exited the band in 2006. By the time the band had signed to Montage Music Group in 2007\, producers for the label had suggested that Howell take over on lead vocals instead. Their first Montage Music release was the live album The Very Best of Little Texas: Live and Loud. They promoted this album on the Triple Threat Tour that year\, which included both Restless Heart and Blackhawk; touring guitarist Mark Sutton accompanied the band on both the tour and the live album. This was followed one month later by the studio album Missing Years. This album produced three singles\, although only one — the title track — made the country charts\, peaking at No. 45. Another studio album with Howell on lead vocals\, Young for a Long Time\, followed in 2015. \n2004-present: Little Texas has continued to tour constantly averaging 65 shows a year. In 2022\, they are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album\, First Time For Everything. \nLittle Texas Website | Little Texas Facebook Page \n\n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. The group consists of Drew Womack (lead vocals\, acoustic guitar)\, Michael Britt (lead guitar\, background vocals)\, Dean Sams (keyboards\, acoustic guitar\, background vocals)\, and Keech Rainwater (drums). Britt\, Sams\, and Rainwater co-founded the band in 1992 with original lead vocalist Richie McDonald and bass guitarist/vocalist John Rich. Rich exited the band in 1998 and went on to become one-half of the duo Big & Rich. Since his departure\, Lonestar has relied alternatingly on session and touring musicians for bass guitar accompaniment. McDonald exited the band in 2007 to record as a solo artist\, and was replaced by former McAlyster vocalist Cody Collins before returning in 2011. After leaving the band a second time in 2021\, McDonald was replaced by Womack\, previously the lead vocalist of Sons of the Desert. \nLonestar’s roots date back to the early ’90s\, when Sams originally moved to Nashville from his native Texas intending to be a solo artist. However\, after a few months\, he realized that he was better suited for a band and recruited Britt and Rainwater. Lonestar found success out of the gate with their self-titled 1995 debut\, which spawned the hit “Tequila Talkin'” along with “No News.” Other honors soon followed: The band has won many of music’s top honors\, including Academy Of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group in 1996\, and Single and Song Of The Year in 2000\, along with Humanitarian Of The Year in 2002. They also won Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year and International Artist Achievement award in 2001. All told\, Lonestar have sold more than 10.5 million records since their formation. \nSams and Womack have already started writing new songs together\, which has been a hugely positive creative experience. “We jelled very quickly\,” Sams says. “When something feels comfortable\, it really makes the creative process much more enjoyable and fun\, and it actually doesn’t feel like work. Drew is such a positive person and he fits in with me\, Michael and Keech so much. And there’s just this newfound energy and life that we haven’t had for some time.” \nAnd so as Lonestar looks toward a big career milestone—the band is celebrating 30 years in 2022—and the release of TEN to 1\, they are full of gratitude for what they’ve accomplished already\, and excited about what the future holds. “People that we used to look up to back in the day—like the Rolling Stones\, Boston\, and even bands like Alabama—they’re older than us\,” Rainwater says. “We look up to those people as like the senior class. But now we are sort of the senior class that people seem to look up to and ask questions about and ask for our expertise.” \nAdds Sams: “It’s amazing that we’re still standing and putting on great shows after all these years. The fans are still coming out to our shows night after night\, to see us and hear our music. That’s almost 30 years of touring\, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am—and I’ve never once taken it for granted.” \nNot every musician has the opportunity to revisit and even potentially improve upon their biggest hits. But on the forthcoming TEN to 1 record\, the award-winning band Lonestar— Dean Sams (keyboards\, acoustic guitar\, background vocals)\, Michael Britt (lead guitarist\, background vocals)\, Keech Rainwater (drums) and Drew Womack (lead vocals\, guitar)—are taking a fresh look at all 10 of their chart-topping country songs. This streak started in 1996 with the band’s second single\, the rock-edged “No News\,” which describes a man left bereft (and confused) when his girlfriend suddenly disappears\, and the following year’s tender “Come Cryin’ to Me” and “Everything’s Changed.” The band’s quadruple-platinum 1999 album Lonely Grill spawned four No. 1 hits (including the beloved global smash “Amazed”) and established Lonestar as music’s preeminent pop-country band—a status they’d maintain through the 2000s and beyond\, thanks to songs full of energy and creative lyrics (“What About Now”) and (“Mr. Mom”)\, along with heartfelt messages and soaring melodies (“I’m Already There”). \nWith these re-recordings\, the band members were mindful of striking a balance between preserving the sonic elements fans were familiar with—and not repeating them. As a result\, many of Lonestar’s re-recordings have merely cosmetic updates and changes. “Mr. Mom” is “a little bit more country-sounding\,” Britt says\, while Sams created some loops for “Smile” to “make it more modern-feeling\, and have a little more motion\,” he says. “It’s a little bigger-sounding than what the original record is. We kept most of the songs pretty close to the originals\, but with just more updated\, modern sounds.” \n“We’ve all played these songs live so much that we’ve morphed them over the years and play them a little bit differently\,” Sams says. “In re-recording them\, it was taking all the different things that we have done and harnessing it into the best direction for today. Michael’s got a lot better guitar sounds than he had when we made a lot of these hits; Keech has better drums.” Sams also produced the TEN to 1 record sessions\, and he approached the songs with fresh ears from both a musical and studio perspective. “I had to look at the music this time\, like\, ‘As not only a band member\, but as the producer of this record\, how can I keep the integrity of what made the songs the hits they were—but also update them so when people listen to them\, there’s something unique and different about them that catches their ear for today’s time.” \nLonestar Website | Lonestar Facebook Page \n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. When he was in middle school\, Chris Kroeze’s dad told him every band needed a singer\, and the only way to tell if that would be Chris was to give it a try. He was a natural. \nThe pull of small town life and the passion for music never left as Kroeze turned into one of the top country musicians in the Midwest. The power of small town community showed as family and friends in Barron helped him get started on his journey to Nashville in 2014\, holding a fundraiser that would lead to him recording his first single “Four Letter Words\,” which received strong radio play and kick started his career. \nIn 2015\, he began a busy stretch of playing over 175 shows a year\, and creating a large and loyal fan following. That popularity soared in 2018\, when he appeared on NBC’s hit TV show “The Voice\,” making it all the way to the finals in a runner-up finish. In the finale\, Kroeze sang the original song “Human\,” which was TOP 10 on the Billboard HOT 100 and TOP 5 on the iTunes TOP 100. His vocal and guitar skills\, combined with a small-town charm\, led to Kroeze to become the most streamed artist in the show’s history. \nA popular live performer\, Chris continued to perform at a frantic pace maintaining an average of over 175 shows a year through 2019\, and the crowds have gotten bigger and bigger. He headlined a show at Aquafest for over 5\,500 fans and has had a number of stops in which he has sold out multiple nights in a row\, yet he still returns for pop-up shows at local bars he used to play at early in his career. \nKroeze has developed a large military fan base as well\, in 2020 making his 10th overseas tour\, and he is a recipient of the Red Cross Community Hero Award. All these years later\, Kroeze’s biggest thrill remains making music that speaks to him and sharing it with people. That love is evident in his most ambitious album yet – “We All Sing Along”. \nChris Kroeze Website | Chris Kroeze Facebook Page \n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees. The furious delivery ebbs and flows with sing-a-long anthems and breakdowns to soaring guitar solos and unbridled full-bore rock. Camaraderie is a common theme\, and stompers are finding like-minded rock’n’rollers at every show. \nHailing from Minnesota\, they take the heavy road route\, grooving in the tracks of so many rubber to the road musicians before them. Following in the footsteps of some of the band’s influences\, being on the road plays a large role in the writing. The merriment must come from all angles\, including the stage for a memorable show and the 4onthefloor BRING IT. Douglas writes about experiences\, failures\, successes\, and not-so-much the what-could-have-beens. Life is for the living and this is the soundtrack to a life well-lived. After seeking as many opportunities as she could\, including spending several summers as a main act on the Medora Musical stage\, Kat followed her undeniable drive and passion for performing and moved to Minneapolis\, Minnesota to pursue music on a more professional scale. \nShe quickly gained the attention of the local Twin Cities music scene by taking stages in the several projects and bands she formed over the years. The most successful being her rock band\, Scarlet Haze\, which went to open for Bon Jovi\, amongst working with some of the music industry’s most well known acts. After a hiatus from performing due to vocal surgery\, Kat made a musical comeback in 2014 by auditioning and appearing on season 6 of NBC’s The Voice. Kat turned 3 chairs during her blind audition\, charted in the top 5 on iTunes several times with her stand-out performances on the show\, and sailed to the finals with help from her coach\, Adam Levine. \nBeing on The Voice brought new platforms of success and opportunities Kat’s way. She’s since gone on an average of two military tours per year to perform for the troops overseas\, sold out venues across America with a variety of themed performances and tours\, and began going into schools to speak to students about following their dreams\, living a Fearless life\, and making a positive impact on the world. That journey led Kat to take her message to corporations all over the world as a keynote speaker. Her Fearless presentation serves as one of the top leadership presentations in the nation using her knowledge of reality television and transferring it into the real world to find success\, joy\, and happiness. The praise Kat received from these presentations even led her to begin a nonprofit foundation\, The Rising Star Foundation\, providing scholarships and opportunity for aspiring musicians while also giving back to the local community. \nKat Perkins Website | Kat Perkins Facebook Page \n\nBest Hotels in Detroit Lakes\, Minnesota\nThe Lodge on Lake Detroit & The Spa Within\nBest Western Premier The Lodge On Lake Detroit\, a Lifestyle Lakefront Minnesota Hotel\, offers a great location and numerous amenities that make us the premier lakefront lodging destination for Historic Holmes Theatre attendees.
