Since then\, Polar Fest has since continued with the pinnacle event being the Polar Fest Plunge into Little Detroit Lake. However\, many other activities including golfing on the lake\, polar explorer presentations\, dances and more have been added. In 2008\, fireworks on the last Saturday evening were added\, becoming one of the highlights of the week-long winter celebration. DESCRIPTION:2026 ULTRA Vintage Snowmobile Rally and Swap Meet\n2026 ULTRA Vintage Snowmobile Rally and Swap Meet\nIt’s go time for the 2026 ULTRA Snowmobile Rally &  Swap Meet run on Saturday\, February 21\, 2026 on Detroit Lake in front of ZORBAZ. Show Registration runs from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.\, and Trophies will be presented at noon. Be sure to buy raffle tickets for thousands of dollars in cash and other great prizes. \nAll of the money raised at the ULTRA Vintage Snowmobile Rally will go to help maintain the trails of Becker County\, which the ULTRA Snowmobile Club helps groom. It’s a fundraiser to help us support the groomers to keep the trails up and keep people coming into the area during winter. After the trophies are awarded\, there will be a parade of snowmobiles\, and beginning the ride to each of the bars participating in the event. Every bar will be giving away prizes as well. Singer/songwriters Nathan “Nature” Nesje\, and Muggsy Lauer make up the core of the group with their slick\, well blended vocal harmonies. Dick Beardsley is a compelling motivational and inspirational keynote speaker at Fortune 500 companies\, non-profit organizations\, conferences\, conventions\, corporate events\, fundraisers\, galas\, sporting events\, prisons\, schools\, and drug treatment centers. \nRead MoreDick is referred to as a running legend in the United States and is best known for his incredible race in the 1982 Boston Marathon. Finally\, while hiking one day\, the ground gave out beneath him and he fell off a cliff. Each time he ended up in the hospital and had multiple surgeries to try and put him back together. \nDue to the large amount of pain medication he was taking\, he became addicted–and that’s when his life really started to spiral out of control. DESCRIPTION:2025 Detroit Lakes Young Life Triathlon\nat Detroit Lakes City Park & Public Beach\nAugust 16\, 2025 @ 6:30 am – Noon\nThe annual Young Life Triathlon launches into the waters of Little Detroit Lake at the City Beach Saturday\, August 16\, 2025. Hundreds of participants spend the morning swimming\, running and biking to the finish line. If you’re looking to get your feet wet\, try the sprint course with a 500-meter swim\, 20K bike ride and 2.92 mile run. Or look into the stand-up paddleboard and kayak division if you feel swimming-challenged. Make it fun with friends by entering the relay team challenge. Feeling confident? The long course is for you. The 1.5K swim is followed by a 40K bike ride and 10K run. Tired just by reading all of that? Feel free to just cheer on the participants! \nThis triathlon offers both Sprint and Olympic distances\, welcoming athletes of all levels—from seasoned triathletes to first-time participants. The Young Life Triathlon combines athletic challenge with community spirit and charitable purpose. Doc and the Scrubs is a big band based out of Detroit Lakes that was founded in 1991 by Dr. Bob Watson\, and is comprised of area musicians\, from ages 20 to over 80.
